Here at Turners Gymnastics our aim is to keep your children continually motivated and challenged. See below for our class descriptions

Parent-Child

Parent and child participate together in this movement and skill exploration class. It is a wonderful way to introduce hand-eye coordination, motor skills, and listening skills. Parents follow along with their child through fun and age-appropriate circuits that can include bars, beam, floor, trampoline and tumble track/foam pit (when in use). The instructors will help guide the parents on how to spot their child on basic gymnastic skills.  Music is also used as a fun way to practice body coordination and listening by following along with the music, instructor, and parent(s). Students in Parent-Child benefit by being introduced to reading readiness, comprehension, and vocabulary through fine motor development, spatial awareness, and gymnastics skills. While strengthening and building from the bond they have with their parents, they also create a new one with their instructor which prepares them for future schooling. Other benefits include: gaining independence in a safe manner, socialization skills, learning to take turns and how to share.

Tots

This class is for children who are ready to participate without a parent and can independently follow circuits with instruction from a coach. It is an awesome way to introduce greater hand-eye coordination, motor skills, and listening skills. Children participate in fun and age-appropriate circuits that can include bars, beam, floor, trampoline and tumble track/foam pit (when in use).  Music is also used as a fun way to practice body coordination and listening by following along with the music and instructor. Students in Tots benefit by being introduced to reading readiness, comprehension, and vocabulary through fine motor development, spatial awareness, and gymnastics skills. The relationship they build with their instructor prepares them for future schooling. Other benefits include: gaining greater independence in a safe manner, socialization skills, learning to take turns and how to share.

Kids

Kids Level 1-2 is a co-ed class that combines two levels to allow students to develop basics and fundamentals while also being continually challenged with next level skills. Children are able to learn gymnastics in a safe and well-equipped environment. Age-appropriate drills, maneuvers, and skills for bars, floor, balance beam, trampoline and tumble track and vault will be introduced. During a class they will participate in a variety of gymnastics and related activities that will help develop and improve self-confidence, leadership skills, strength, beginning dance, coordination, flexibility, balance and fine & gross motor skill development. In this class, students follow a specific skill progression with modification as needed to help maximize their learning experience.

Each week, and from month to month we vary the lesson plan to continue to challenge each child in a fun, new way. We provide a positive environment for a confidence building experience!

Girls Level 2

In the Girls Level 2 class students have begun to master the basics and fundamentals in levels 1 and 2 and are ready for a greater challenge. In our Girls 2 class we focus in greater depth on form (correct body shapes (i.e. head, hand, foot placement etc.)), skill connections, strength, dance for routines, and working towards competitive team. Students focus on the four competitive events: Uneven Bars, Balance Beam, Floor and Vault. Trampoline and the tumble track with a foam pit are included in the events they participate on. In this class students, follow a specific skill progression to help maximize their learning experience. This class is the step before Pre-Team where students have achieved all level 1 and 2 skills and are preparing for competitive team.
