We are open for recreational classes and team practices! We are following the Forward Dane plan for Dane County during the COVID-19 pandemic. It currently allows for gyms to operate 50% of capacity and we have limited our numbers to much lower than 25% of our capacity limits and operate within all mandates for social distancing, mask wearing and more.
We are part of WI Gymnastics Clubs, a membership of gyms committed to safety standards for our gymnastics facilities to keep our students and families safe. We spent many hours meeting virtually with other gym owners throughout WI to create and specify a set of guidelines so that when we were ready to open, we could do so confidently. A Sound Mind in a Sound Body
Madison Turners (Turnverein) is a non-profit organization that was formed in 1848 by German settlers. Although our founders were German, today our membership is made up of a diverse group of people from all walks of life who believe in our motto “a sound mind in a sound body.” We admit people of any race, color, gender, national and ethnic origin without discrimination for any reason. All of our activities are open to members and non-members alike.
Among the events we sponsor are lectures, debates, social functions, and craft/hobby instructions. We also participate in activities within the community and those setup by other organizations when the purpose and aims are mutual. Turners offers various scholarships to students and participates in regional and national cultural events. The Madison Mäennerchor, founded in 1852, is a shining example of Madison Turners continuing dedication to our culture and heritage.

We are a non-profit organization dedicated to the sport of gymnastics. Our primary mission is to promote youth achievement in athletics, and we do so without discrimination of any kind. We believe in and seek to engender the character-building qualities of gymnastics such as strength, balance, setting and achieving goals and raising self-esteem.
We offer classes for kids as young as toddlers all the way through high school. Both recreation and competitive programs are available, so there is something to meet the needs of every child. We also offer a free trial class for new students, so you can see what our program is like before you commit to our gym. In addition, we host open gyms, birthday parties, and go on field trips.
Volleyball Programs for All Ages and Skill Levels
Volleyball is a sport we are very passionate about at Madison Turners. We have two suspended hardwood courts that maximize fun and minimize harmful impact to your body, and we work very hard to keep our courts and equipment in good working order. We have a variety of groups with varying skill levels to make sure there is something for everyone.
Adult open play volleyball programs are available almost every day and each session lasts for two hours. You do not have to be a member of Turners to play, but membership does allow you have a voice in the future of Turners and membership allows you to play at a reduced cost.
Our volleyball program is by invitation only. By design, these invitations allow volleyball players of similar skill levels play together. Check out our volleyball page to see more information and contact our courts manager about joining one of our groups.
Join us for one of the Fastest Growing Sports in the World
Pickleball is a paddle sport for all ages and skill levels that includes elements of sports such as tennis, badminton, and ping-pong. We have open play several times during the week, and we are always open to new players. For the best experience, we ask you contact our courts coordinator to learn about the different groups available and your experience with the sport.
Our courts are beautiful, well-cared-for hardwood which will enhance the experience and make sure you stay safe while on the court. As with volleyball, members receive a discount on the cost of play.
